After riding 934km in seven days, this rest is VERY welcome. I passed out cold about 6:30pm last night and didn’t wake up till about 7:30am this morning. The previous night, we were camped in the middle of a town, and the worlds worst DJ was blasting music across the street. If the music had been consistent I probably could have slept through it, but it would abruptly stop and start jarring me awake again each time. So, the mileage and the lack of sleep added up to one very tired Scott.

After a very lazy morning, I managed to do my laundry and switch my tires back to tarmac mode. While doing so I discovered several (5) cracks in my rear rim, all around the spokes. Sigh… So now I have to work on getting a replacement rim brought in. There will be a few riders joining us in Victoria Falls so I’ll probably be able to get one of them to bring it. If we were closer to Cape Town I’d just ride it out, but we still have over 4000km to ride and a big dirt section in Botswana. I don’t want to lose my EFI (Every F****** Inch cycled) status to a broken wheel.
